המבט השני

הדברים הפשוטים תמיד מפתיעים. הם אף פעם לא רק זה שלשמו נוצרו במקור. אפשר לגלות את הרבגוניות שלהם רק במבט שני: האם האום הוא באמת רק אום, או שאפשר להשתמש בו גם למטרות אחרות? גיליתי הרבה לעצמי במוצרים הקטנים שיוצרו למעשה לתעשייה ולבנייה. אני משתמשת בהם בתכשיטים ורואה את היופי בפשטותם.

אני גם אוהבת את אפקט ההפתעה – את הגילוי במבט שני, כאשר אנשים מזהים ממה עשוי התכשיט. ואני יכולה להבטיח לך שמחמאות נהדרות יגיעו במהרה עקב הגילוי המפתיע.

השילוב של אומים ודסקיות מנירוסטה עם חרוזי קרמיקה, קישוטי מתכת, זכוכית, אקריליק וחרוזים מאבנים חצי-יקרות, הם החומרים שמהם אני מעצבת אוסף מפתיע של שרשראות, טבעות, צמידים ועגילים. באמצעות החומרים השונים אני נותנת לתכשיטים מראה מודרני של רעננות ופשטות.

העיצוב של כל תכשיט הוא יצירת מחשבה תחילה. כל אחד מהם – צבעם, סידור החלקים הבודדים ומיקומם בעיצוב השלם – הוא בהשראת הטעם האישי והאמנותי שלי, כמו גם תוצאה של עבודת יד סבלנית. לתכשיטים מפלדת אל-חלד ושילוב של אומים וחרוזים יש משיכה מיוחדת מאוד, בהיותם מצד אחד "גבריים" ומצד שני רומנטיים ו"נשיים" כאחד. רבים מהתכשיטים הללו, במה שמכונה "מראה תעשייתי", יכולים לענוד הן גברים והן נשים כאחד.

 

וקצת עליי

אני מעצבת תכשיטים אוטודידקטית. לפני כמה עשורים, כסטודנטית לארכיאולוגיה והיסטוריה בירושלים, מימנתי את לימודיי ואת חיי היומיום שלי חלקית בייצור תכשיטים שנהגתי למכור בקמפוס.

המשכתי את לימודי האנתרופולוגיה והפולקלור בגרמניה, ועשיתי שם את הדוקטורט שלי. עבדתי יחד עם בעלי במשך שנים רבות בהפקת וכתיבת עשרות סרטי תיעודה באיכות גבוהה.

לאחר שפרשנו, עברנו לקפריסין, והתחלתי מחדש בעיצוב תכשיטים. הוספתי רעיונות חדשים וטכניקות חדשות. לאחר פטירת בעלי חזרתי לישראל, היכן שאני גרה עכשיו.

THE SECOND GLANCE:

The simple things always hold a surprise. They are never only that for which they were originally created for. One can discover its versatility only at a SECOND GLANCE: Is a nut really just a nut or you can use it for other purposes too? I've discovered much for myself in the little things which were actually produced for industry and for construction. I use them for jewelry and see the BEAUTY IN SIMPLICITY.

I also like the surprise effect, the DISCOVERY at a SECOND GLANCE (wow, ooh,aah, OMG!), when people recognize what the jewelry piece was made from. And I can assure you that great compliments then follow!

Combining stainless steel nuts and washers with beads of ceramics, stones, metal ornaments, glass, acrylic and semi-precious beads among other materials I create an enticing collection of necklaces, bracelets and earrings. By using the different materials I give the jewelry a modern look of both freshness and simplicity.

The design of each piece of jewelry is a contemplative creation. Each of them – their color, the arrangement of the single parts and their position in the complete design is inspired by my personal taste and artistry as well as the result of patient handiwork. The jewelry of stainless steels nuts and the combination of nuts and beads have a very special appeal, being on the one hand masculine and on the other hand being both romantic and feminine. Many of these pieces in the so-called “industrial look” can be worn both by men and women.

 

About me

I am a self-taught jewelry maker. Several decades ago, as a student of Archaeology and History in Jerusalem, I financed my studies and my daily life partly with jewelry making which I used to sell on the campus.

I continued my studies in Anthropology and Folklore in Germany and made there my PhD. and worked for many years producing and writing dozens of high quality documentary films.

After retiring, we moved to Cyprus, and I restarted my jewelry making, adding new ideas and new techniques. After my husband passed away I went back to Israel where I live now.
